Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides janitorial and grounds maintenance services.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain the retreat house as a safe and clean environment.
2. Sweep, wet mop and vacuum floors.
3. Help with mowing the lawn.
4. Remove snow from sidewalks and entryways.
5. Remove trash and oversee burning of trash.
6. Set up tables, chairs and technical equipment for events.
7. Set up food service in the Father Kentenich Hall.
8. Operate commercial dish washer and help with kitchen and dining room clean up.
9. Completes other assignments within the scope of this position as requested by the supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Follow Employee Handbook.
2. Ability to walk, stand, maintain balance, climb ladders, crouch, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach.
3. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
4. Ability to work independently and with others.
5. Ability to effectively deal with a variety of personalities in a tactful and professional manner.
6. Ability to use hand and power tools.
7. Must be sighted and capable of hearing.
8. Understanding and compatibility with the vision, values and mission of the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary. Devoted active member of a Roman Catholic community highly desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. 8 hours per day, 5 days per week includes weekends.
2. Working conditions may at times include extreme heat and extreme cold and physical hazards.
3. Work may be noisy, dirty, dusty, or greasy.
4. Work can be physically strenuous.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Accountable to the General Manager.
