Through this strategic work, communities become "Her Community" distinguished by a strong growing network of support that helps women plan for their future without resorting to abortion.
Directors of Community Engagement lead teams of up to six state coordinators, each responsible for mobilizing communities in their state to increase awareness of existing supports for pregnant and parenting mothers, strengthen connections between providers, identify unmet needs, and prompt new and expanded local care. Motivating churches and community organizations to find their calling to serve pregnant and parenting moms is a crucial component Her Community outreach.
Together with the community, coordinators develop a roadmap that outlines actionable steps to reinforce the pro-life safety net in each Her Community. This work is supported by the Her PLAN Directory of vetted life-affirming service providers and Her PLAN's Pathways guide which offers models to address gaps in the community's pro-life safety net. Directors of Community Engagement participate in local events alongside state coordinators and manage the planning and execution of each Her Community.
In addition to community-level efforts, Directors of Community Engagement's teams execute state-wide outreach to expand the reach of the Her PLAN Directory and Pathways program, while cultivating in development of future Her Communities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategies for Her Communities in assigned states with an emphasis on community-based engagement that strengthens and grows the pro-life safety-net including:
*Identifying successful approaches and recommending adjustments to improve Her Communities practices,
*Maximizing state coordinator impact by helping them identify gaps and pathways to fill them,
*Participating in Her Community workshops (including speaking and facilitating community discussions),
*Expanding utilization of the Her PLAN Directory, and
*Employing Pathways models to address unmet needs.
Supervise a remote team of up to six State Coordinators including:
*Recruiting, training and onboarding new staff in conjunction with the Her PLAN Human Resources Manager.
*Leading state coordinators in setting goals to achieve the objectives of the organization in their individual states.
*Ensure state program goals are met with accurate timely reporting across assigned states.
*Promote team cohesion and knowledge sharing across the team.
*Ensure consistency and quality of Her PLAN events.
*Manage state and national relationships that provide direct benefit to the program.
*Develop new Pathways models to address high priority unmet needs.
*Stay up-to-date on news and events relative to Her PLAN's categories of care or ministries or policy initiatives in these categories.
Requirements:
Three or more years of experience:
*with an organization serving pregnant women in one of our categories of care,
*in relevant state policy, public health, or non-profit work, or
working on grassroots campaign management or community organizing.
*At least two years of management experience.
*A strong ability to articulate pro-life issues, women's barriers to carrying to term and relevant community assets.
*Experience in community outreach, community organizing, donor relations, external relations or similar preferred.
Competencies:
*Must be pro-life and dedicated to protecting unborn children and their mothers from abortion.
*Must be skilled in public speaking and moderating productive community meetings.
*Must be a collaborative leader with a high degree of motivation and initiative.
*Must possess a high level of professionalism, discretion and organizational skills
Supervisory Responsibility:
This is a full-time position and supervises a team of up to six State Coordinators.
Travel:
Travel within her/his team's states and to the Virginia headquarters is required. The role will require travel up to 50% of the time. Candidates must have a valid driver's license, car and will be reimbursed for mileage.
Position Type/Expected Hours:
This position is an exempt full-time position. Hours are typically 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday. Some weekend and evening work is required.

About Her PLAN:
Her PLAN is a project of the SBA Pro-Life America Education Fund that strengthens and grows the pro-life safety net. The project works across seven categories of care that encompass assistance to address the reasons women resort to abortion.
The seven categories of care are:
1) Care Coordination and Pregnancy Support;
2) Women's Health;
3) Finances, Work and Education;
4) Material or Legal Support;
5) Recovery and Mental Health;
6) Prenatal Diagnosis; and
7) Care for Children.
