Job Description

Position: Part-Time Classroom Teacher (Thursday & Friday)
Grades: Combined 6th-8th Grade Classroom

Mother of Hope Hybrid Academy is seeking a passionate and faith-filled educator to teach a combined 6th-8th grade classroom on Thursdays and Fridays. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, structured, and faith-centered learning environment while fostering academic growth and character development in students.

Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging math and science lessons in alignment with MOHHA's curriculum.
Maintain a screen-free, positive, and structured classroom environment indoors and outdoors
Communicate regularly with parents to support student development and engagement.
Participate in professional development opportunities.
Support students' individual learning needs and provide guidance as needed.
Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Math-Specific:
Instruct students in grade-level math concepts using the Singapore Math curriculum for middle school.
Use real-world problem solving to build mathematical reasoning and critical thinking.
Incorporate math games, manipulatives, and collaborative activities to reinforce core concepts and maintain student engagement.

Science-Specific:
Deliver inquiry-based science instruction covering life, earth, and physical science topics appropriate for middle school learners.
Plan and facilitate hands-on experiments and lab activities that encourage curiosity, observation, and scientific thinking.
Connect science concepts to the natural world and God's creation, reinforcing the school's Catholic faith-centered mission.
Guide students in developing science notebooks, lab reports, and data analysis skills as part of a structured science curriculum.

Qualifications:
Experience managing groups of children in an educational or structured setting.
Commitment to being a joyful witness of the Catholic faith and contributing to the Catholic identity of the academy.
Teaching certificate is not required, but should have experience with elementary/middle education, classical education, faith based instruction, or homeschool curriculum.
Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.

We provide in-person classes at the academy two days a week, and curriculum guidance for three days of learning at home.
