Job Description
St. Brendan Catholic School is seeking an Interim Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. Located in Bothell, WA, St. Brendan is a vibrant preschool-8th grade community with one class per grade and approximately 255 students.Our mission-shared with parents and our active parish community-is to educate and empower students to live as Disciples of Christ, pursue academic excellence, and serve both the Church and global community. Our dedicated teachers work collaboratively, enjoy strong parent support, and benefit from the active engagement of our parish priest.
Qualifications
Practicing Catholic committed to sharing the Catholic faith with students
Bachelor's degree required (education degree preferred)
Washington teaching certificate preferred; candidates currently pursuing certification will be considered
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to high academic standards and Catholic values
Ability to collaborate as part of a dynamic middle school team
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Collaborate with the principal to support and implement the mission of the parish and school
Plan and deliver instructional programs grounded in Catholic philosophy, values, and academic excellence
Teach up to five middle school Social Studies classes daily and serve as 8th grade homeroom teacher, including responsibilities for graduation events and retreat
Use inclusive and flexible instructional strategies to support diverse learners
Establish strong partnerships with parents through consistent and meaningful communication
Select, organize, and adapt curriculum materials to meet student needs and instructional goals
Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of tools; maintain accurate academic records and share progress with students and parents
Create and maintain a positive, well managed classroom environment using Positive Discipline and Love & Logic approaches
Communicate effectively with administrators, faculty, parents, and students
Maintain and expand professional knowledge through ongoing education
Integrate technology and STEM practices into instruction
Implement student support plans with accommodations and modifications as needed
Support parents as the primary educators of their children in the faith
Work toward (and ultimately attain) Seattle Archdiocese catechetical certification
Maintain all required Safe Environment and background clearances
Teach online or in a hybrid model if circumstances require
Compensation
Annual Salary: $55,000-$75,000 (pro rated for the remainder of the school year)
Final salary is based on internal equity, experience, education, certifications, and market factors
Benefits: Not offered for this interim position
