Job Description
Position: Long-Term Substitute TeacherGrade Level: 4th Grade
Subjects: Math, English, Language Arts, and Social Studies
Start Date: October 2025
End Date: January 2026
Location: Maternity BVM School, Philadelphia, PA
Maternity BVM, a Catholic elementary school, is seeking a caring and dedicated long-term substitute teacher for our 4th grade class. The ideal candidate will create a supportive, faith-filled classroom environment and provide engaging instruction in Math, English Language Arts, and Social Studies.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and Catholic values.
Maintain a structured, respectful and positive classroom environment.
Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate with colleagues and administration.
Assess student progress and provide feedback as needed.
Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
Valid teaching certificate and up to date clearances.
Previous classroom teaching experience preferred.
Strong communication, organization and classroom management skills.
