Job Description

Maintenance Man: a skilled professional responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general functioning of buildings, machinery, or mechanical equipment at St. Francis Retreat Center, Monticello, NY.

Core Responsibilities
• Preventative Maintenance: Performing routine checks, such as changing HVAC filters, lubricating machinery, or inspecting fire alarms to prevent future breakdowns.
• General Repairs: Fixing "wear and tear" issues like leaky faucets, clogged drains, broken door locks, or damaged drywall.
• Electrical & Plumbing: Handling minor electrical work (replacing outlets or light fixtures) and basic plumbing (repairing toilets or pipes).
• Systems Monitoring: Checking boilers, water heaters, and electrical panels to ensure they are operating within safe parameters.
• Outdoor Upkeep: Groundskeeping tasks like snow removal, lawn care, or pressure washing.

Key Skills
• Troubleshooting: The ability to diagnose why something isn't working and determine the most cost-effective way to fix it.
• Manual Dexterity: Comfort using a wide range of hand and power tools (drills, saws, wrenches, multimeters).
