Instructional Aide

Job Description

Job Description: To assist homeroom teachers in various grade levels with instructional materials, class organization and management, and maintenance of a functional and pleasant learning environment. Works with individual and small student groups to reinforce learning concepts or skills introduced by the teacher. Works and promotes the school's philosophy, mission statement, code of conduct, and learning expectations.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, working towards a college degree
Previous experience in working with children
Classroom Responsibilities: To assist classroom teachers in the following:
Provide individual and small-group instruction with teacher guidance. Assists students with or without the teacher
Assist with the organization and maintenance of an orderly and organized classroom environment, which facilitates the everyday activities and the management of the classroom.
Demonstrate effective behavioral management strategies under the direction of the classroom teacher.
Provide a safe environment when working with students to facilitate their learning.
Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials, such as bulletin boards, games, worksheets, handouts, and other materials.
Assist the teacher with liturgical preparations.
Assist the teacher with lesson planning as it pertains to the progress of grouped students
Assist with enrichment and/or remedial work activities
Willing to learn how to check and input student data online
Perform other duties consistent with the job description
External Responsibilities:
Lunch and/or recess duty as assigned by the Principal
Assist with morning student drop-off and afternoon pick-up line.
Other duties assigned by the Principal
Hourly Pay: Starting Range $28.00 - $35.00 /hour (dependent on years of experience)
Schedule: M - F 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
