Job Description

Reading Coach
Hours: 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday. We are looking for candidates who can work as early as 7:30 am and up to as late as 6pm as well as during the school day hours. We can talk to you about hours. We have students in several different hour blocks.

Job:
One-on-one reading intervention to individual students. We provide the curriculum and the training. We pay for training as well as reading intervention. Families all commit to work for semester and year-long agreements. We go into the schools to tutor but also coach kids at our offices in Verona Wisconsin. We are looking for someone who loves kids, appreciates reading and wants to help struggling kids grow in confidence and learn to read. Kids are mostly elementary school age, and some in middle school. We also help high school kids. You don't have to do any screening, collect any money, or do anything with contracts. You only have to inspire and walk kids through the curriculum that we train you in. The program works and it works well. The work is extremely rewarding. You will get to see kids who never could read start picking up books. It truly is life changing work. Most kids are with us for two and half to four years so you will really get to know them and their families.

Special skills:
If you have previous teaching, tutoring, or coaching experience that is helpful. We prefer candidates who have at least a bachelor's degree. We also teach writing so if you have any experience with writing or journalism that is helpful. We consider candidates with all different backgrounds and are looking for folks that fit our culture and can learn quickly.

Email your resume to davec@learningatrium.org or call Dave at 608-456-7323 ext. 3 with any questions. We have an official company application as well at the bottom of our weblink (but we can email it to you as well). https://www.learningatrium.org/join-our-team
