Job Description

1. This maintenance person is to serve the Provincial Offices at 220 37th Street; St. Augustine Friary 221 36th Street, Pittsburgh PA 15201. Also, may need to provide minimal support at the Alverno Retreat Center.

2. The Provincial Chief Financial Officer and St Augustine Friary Guardian will coordinate his work at the various locations.

3. In general, this person is to maintain the above facilities in keeping with the Province's Maintenance Program and Policy.

4. This person is expected to show good sense and good judgment in implementing the Maintenance program and Policy. He is expected to know or to learn ordinary regulations, skills and procedures in electricity, plumbing, woodwork, machinery, building systems, safety systems, roofing, radio, telephone, and television in order to maintain the buildings and the operations that go on therein. When additional knowledge and/or skill are required, this person is expected to recommend to his supervisor that professional persons be engaged for the repairs and maintenance.

5. The Province will provide all tools and materials this person needs to perform his duties for the Province. These tools and materials remain the property of the Province, and are to be kept safe and in good condition by the maintenance person.

6. Whenever training is required for the performance of his duties, this person is expected to take workshops, etc., for his personal and job development. Ordinarily this training will be during work hours, and the Province will pay the tuition or workshop fees. If training is required during non-scheduled work hours, the Province will reimburse the employee according to the St Augustine Friary Employment Policy Manual.

7. The maintenance person is hired primarily for maintenance, repair and upkeep of our friary, offices and grounds. Additionally, this person is responsible for making sure the fleet of vehicles assigned to the friary/province are maintained in good working order and may be required, upon direction of the Chief Financial Officer or St Augustine Friary Guardian, to pick-up, deliver and transport.

8. The above description and requirements will be subject to review at the time of the annual review.

9. The regular schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 3PM but overtime may be required when necessary
