About the Role
The Global Center for Human Rights (GCHR) is seeking a mission-driven Advocacy Officer to join our Washington, D.C. office. This role is ideal for someone who not only brings professional expertise, but also shares and actively upholds our core values: defending life from conception to natural death; affirming the family founded on the union of a man and a woman as the fundamental cell of society; protecting religious freedom understood as the intrinsic right of every person to live and to educate their children in accordance with their beliefs; and safeguarding the sovereignty of nations against external interference.
As our Advocacy Officer, you will represent GCHR before the Organization of American States (OAS) and engage with key stakeholders in Washington, including the U.S. Department of State. You will monitor ongoing negotiations, follow institutional developments, and build strong relationships with diplomats and allied actors. The role also includes coordination and follow-up of relevant activity at the United Nations in New York, ensuring strategic alignment across multilateral platforms.
This position requires conviction, political awareness, and clarity of purpose: you will be on the frontlines of defending life, family, and freedom in key regional and global decision-making arenas.
Essential Criteria
-Personal alignment with GCHR's values: defense of life, family, and religious freedom; respect for sovereignty and democracy.
-Fluency in both Spanish and English (spoken and written).
-U.S. Citizenship.
Responsibilities
-Monitor OAS sessions, negotiations, resolutions, and institutional developments relevant to GCHR's mission.
-Establish and maintain strong working relationships with diplomats, Permanent Missions, U.S. government officials, and allied organizations in Washington, D.C.
-Engage with the U.S. Department of State and other relevant stakeholders to support GCHR's advocacy efforts.
-Track and follow key developments at the United Nations (New York), ensuring coordination with GCHR's global advocacy strategy.
-Prepare memos, policy briefs, and recommendations for States and institutional partners.
-Support and participate in meetings, briefings, and advocacy engagements at the OAS and in Washington policy circles.
-Coordinate with GCHR teams globally (Geneva, Latin America, etc.) to ensure unified positioning.
-Represent GCHR's mission with professionalism, conviction, and strategic judgment.
