Job Description
START August or September 2026We're seeking a nanny and household helper to watch our five children (ages 0-11) and to keep the household running smoothly. Our ideal candidate loves children and Catholicism and is attracted to the vision our family is pursuing (see below).
We are also looking for someone with grit. Sometimes our house gets chaotic, and one of our children is very strong-willed. So we are looking for someone who is calm and flexible during changing circumstances, and who can proactively help us to re-create order when things become chaotic. Similarly, we need someone who can provide consistent, warm, and firm discipline to our children.
We live in New York City, on the upper west side of Manhattan, and the position could be live-in or live-out.
Responsibilities include:
-childcare (no screen time, lots of trips to central park)
-school pickups / drop-offs and local extracurriculars (typically all within a ten minute walk of the apartment)
-household help (meal prep, errands, laundry, tidying, taking out recycling, etc)
-involving kids in the work of the home; we like them to pitch in!
Job Details
-40-50 hours per week
-live-in (shared kitchen) or live-out
-minimum 1 year commitment
Requirements:
-Faithful to the teachings of the Magisterium
-ability, and interest in doing the job well!
About Us
We have 5 children and live on the upper west side of Manhattan. Our faith is very important to us, and so are music, art, and literature. Our kids study music and painting and attend a Classical Christian School. We try to ensure they spend a lot of time outside at the park. (We don't like technology very much, and we don't like the kids to do too many extracurriculars.) Community is also very important to us, and we host a lot.
