Job Title: Campus Minister - St. Joseph Catholic Newman Center
Location: Curia - Peoria, IL
Reports to: Chaplain
Job Type: Full-time

About St. Joseph Catholic Newman Center
The Newman Center is situated on the campus of Bradley University and serves students on campus as well as other college-aged individuals in Greater Peoria. The center is adjacent to St. Mark's parish and partners with its clergy and staff to help students encounter Jesus, stay rooted in his Church, and grow as his disciples.

About the Role
Together the two Campus Ministers work together to oversee all day-to-day activities of the Newman Center under the direction of the Chaplain/Director. They work closely with the Director, Student Leadership Council, and the Student Koinonia Retreat Core Team.

What You Will Do
Duties listed below provide a broad picture but are not comprehensive.

General Programming:
- Provide clear communication through regular and on-going updates of our Webpage, Google Calendar, GroupMe, and other media as needed.
- Provide mentorship and guidance of the Student Leadership Council to delegate and oversee Newman events/programming; attend Bi-weekly Leadership Council Meeting at 8:30 PM
- Assist the Director/Chaplain in discerning the following year's Leadership Council
- Organize and plan Student Leader Retreats at the beginning of each
semester
- Plan and Prepare for Welcome Week schedule of events (e.g., order and rent supplies)
- Assist students in organizing and executing special events like liturgical events (e.g., Day of Grace), social events (e.g., dances and dinners), and service events

Evangelical Programming:
- Oversee discipleship formation through Evangelical Catholic: Lead weekly group formation meeting, disciple 4-5 students weekly, schedule and plan monthly continuing formation meetings
- Oversee the scheduling and planning of weekly RCIA meetings for students: Communicate with appropriate partner parishes (e.g., Cathedral), Record and Maintain Sacramental Records
NOTE: Currently much of this has been delegated to St. Mark's
- Oversee Sunday and Daily Mass: Be aware of proper rubrics for the day and liturgical season
- Prepare bulletin and pulpit announcements
- Oversee Koinonia Retreat Program: Guide discernment of student leadership for retreats, Attend Weekly Koinonia preparatory meeting beginning at 8:30 PM, Preview speakers' talks prior to the meetings, Assist Core Team for retreat, Schedule retreat dates with Retreat Center, Become familiar with operations at Retreat Center

Administration:
- Ministry of Presence: Be a visible and supportive presence at the Newman Center, Be the responsible contact at the Newman Center, Respond to all outside requests regarding the use of Newman, Facilities, governmental and insurance related requests, etc.
- Development: Manage and update mailing list of contacts and alumni, Send semesterly newsletter, Send Thank You letter to all donors, Mail end-of-year tax exempt letter to all donors
-Finance: Work with the Diocesan Finance Office to set the annual budget and the regular payment of bills, Perform monthly bookkeeping activities (track deposits/checks,
reconcile checking account statement, pay bills etc.), Count and record Sunday collection, general donations & electronic donations, Handle reimbursements for items purchased for events by students
-Order/Stock Supplies: Maintain and order cleaning/household/office supplies for the Newman Center, Maintain and order supplies for SJK Retreat, Maintain and order supplies for Sacristy, Order supplies for all events that aren't delegated to a member of Leadership Council
-Building/Maintenance: Oversee care and decor of the Newman Chapel, Execute summer projects or commission them to be done (e.g. painting, landscaping etc.), Maintain the Fulton Sheen Library, Delegate building custodial tasks, Perform minor repairs/call in repairs to property as needed, Install and uninstall air conditioners seasonally, Troubleshoot Wi-Fi Networks

What You Bring
To be considered, a well-suited candidate would meet the following requirements:
- Possess a vibrant Catholic Faith with a strong desire to foster the spiritual lives of students.
- Have earned a bachelor's degree
- Have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Docs
- Have exceptional project management and organizational skills
- Be a self-starter and willing to take initiative but also teachable
- Have strong relational and emotional intelligence
- Be willing to work odd hours to accommodate student schedules, for example: 10am-10pm on occasion or on weekends

Top Candidates Will Also
- Be an alum of Bradley University or have had leadership experience at a Catholic Newman Center
- A bachelor's or master's degree in theology
- Skilled in liturgical music and able to mentor a student choir
- Visionary thinking with the ability to turn ideas into actionable plans

- Salary Range: $24-28,000 + housing and utilities [equivalent to $36-40k] based on skills and experience
