Job Description

Position Overview

Cristo Rey Charleston High School seeks a mission-driven, highly organized, and relationship-oriented Recruitment & Enrollment Coordinator to help build the founding class of 100 students for our opening in August 2027.

As a member of the school's founding team, the Recruitment & Enrollment Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and families throughout the recruitment, admissions, and enrollment process. This individual will manage the systems, communications, events, and operational processes that support the successful enrollment of mission-aligned students while ensuring every family experiences exceptional service and support.

The ideal candidate is both a detail-oriented project manager and a compassionate ambassador for the Cristo Rey mission. They thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, enjoy building systems and processes from the ground up, and possess a strong commitment to serving students and families with limited economic resources.

Reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Enrollment, the Coordinator will play a critical role in establishing recruitment pipelines, managing admissions operations, supporting family engagement, and ensuring that enrollment goals are met for the school's inaugural and future classes.

Key Responsibilities
-Recruitment & Community Outreach
-Support the development and execution of a comprehensive student recruitment strategy designed to enroll the founding class and future cohorts.
-Build and maintain strong relationships with middle schools, parishes, churches, community organizations, youth-serving agencies, and civic groups throughout the Charleston region.
-Represent Cristo Rey Charleston at school fairs, parish events, community gatherings, information sessions, and recruitment events.
-Bilingual Outreach: Conduct presentations, application workshops, phone calls, and interviews fluently in both English and Spanish to ensure clear communication.
-Develop and coordinate pipeline programs and engagement opportunities for middle school students and families.
-Coordinate school tours and personalized campus visit experiences for prospective families.
-Recruit, train, and manage student and parent ambassadors to support recruitment efforts.
-Admissions & Enrollment Operations
-Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and families providing guidance through the application and admissions process.
-Provide exceptional customer service through timely communication, follow-up, and individualized support.
-Manage the receipt, review, and processing of student applications and supporting documentation.
-Prepare applicant files for review by the Admissions Committee, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
-Coordinate admissions interviews, entrance exams, student visits, and committee meetings.
-Monitor applicant progress and proactively communicate with families regarding missing requirements and deadlines.
-Facilitate enrollment and onboarding processes for accepted students and families.
-Coordinate new student registration, orientation, and transition activities.
-Data Management & Enrollment Systems
-Maintain admissions databases, CRM platforms, and enrollment management systems with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
-Track prospective students through every stage of the enrollment funnel from inquiry to matriculation.
-Generate reports on recruitment activities, application completion, enrollment conversion rates, and other key metrics.
-Ensure the integrity, organization, and security of student records and admissions documentation.
-Develop and improve systems and workflows that create an efficient, family-centered admissions experience.
-Assist in forecasting enrollment trends and identifying opportunities to strengthen recruitment efforts.
-Family Support & Customer Experience
-Build trusting relationships with students and families throughout the enrollment journey.
-Assist families with financial aid applications and required documentation in collaboration with the Finance Office.
-Provide personalized guidance and support to ensure families successfully complete all admissions and enrollment requirements.
-Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries via phone, email, text, and in-person meetings.
-Create a welcoming, mission-centered experience that reflects the values of Cristo Rey Charleston.

Events & Engagement
-Plan, coordinate, and execute admissions and enrollment events.
-Coordinate event logistics, registration, communication, staffing, materials, and follow-up activities.
-Collaborate with internal departments to ensure successful event execution and family engagement.

Founding Team Contributions
-Contribute to the development and refinement of admissions, enrollment, and family engagement processes.
-Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to take on responsibilities beyond the formal scope of the role as the school grows.
-Participate actively in school events, community outreach efforts, and founding team initiatives.
-Collaborate with the school leadership and marketing team to support recruitment-focused communications.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Recruitment and Enrollment.

Required Qualifications - Applicants without the REQUIRED Qualifications will not be considered.
-Bachelor's degree
-Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency
-Two or more years of experience in admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, education, nonprofit organizations, customer service, community engagement, marketing, or related fields.
-Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.
-Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
-Outstanding customer service orientation and commitment to relationship building.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, CRM systems, databases, and student information systems.
-Ability to work effectively with students and families from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and racial backgrounds.
-Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
-Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications
-Experience in admissions, enrollment management, or student recruitment.
-Experience supporting financial aid or tuition assistance programs.
-Familiarity with Catholic education and the Cristo Rey model.
-Experience planning events, managing databases, and coordinating community partnerships.
-Knowledge of Charleston-area schools, parishes, and community organizations.

Physical Requirements
-Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout a school environment.
-Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment.
-Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
-Ability to travel locally for recruitment events, school visits, and community outreach activities.

Compensation
-Full-time, year-round position.
-Salary Range: $50,000 to $60,000.
