Job Description
Director of AdvancementVilla Maria Academy High School
Malvern, PA
Villa Maria Academy High School is an independent Catholic college preparatory school founded by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, where motivated young women grow with intention and uplift others in a faith-filled and nurturing community. Located on 45 acres at the west end of the Main Line in Malvern, Villa Maria encourages students to build lives of purpose at a pivotal time in life through process-driven intellectual rigor, excellence in athletics and the arts, spiritual growth, and a commitment to service. In an all-girls setting that is caring and structured, students explore their love of learning, identify passions, and discover the meaning of true leadership as they grow into the best version of themselves.
Reporting to the President, the Director of Advancement plans, develops, and implements all aspects of the stewardship and fundraising program, including the annual fund, major gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving, EITC/OSTC, special events, and alumnae relations to support the school's mission and to cultivate a culture of philanthropy and gratitude across all constituencies. The Director manages a team of four and works closely with the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees.
Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably in a private or Catholic school environment. The successful candidate must have proven success, coupled with a track record of success cultivating, soliciting, and closing major gifts. The Director will have strong management and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to work effectively with trustees, faculty, administration, staff, alumnae, parents, and volunteers. The ideal candidate will be committed to embracing the mission of Villa Maria Academy High School and the traditions of an all-girls Catholic secondary school based on the IHM charism. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in a related field (nonprofit management, development, education). Must be willing and able to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
