Job Description

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing client services and overseeing effective case management of the Brockton Pregnancy Help office, an outreach ministry of the Archdiocese of Boston for women facing challenges during pregnancy. And also to support the Pro-Life director in outreach and presentations to parishes. Reports to Pregnancy Help Nurse Manager and the Pro-Life Office Director. This position is for 48 to 64 hours bi-weekly. (Per pay period)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure the delivery of client services in a professional, confidential and compassionate way consistent with Pregnancy Help Office Guidelines and in keeping with Church teaching on the dignity of each human person.
2. Assess client needs and assure adequate delivery of client services in coordination with other staff. Responsibilities include:
• Responding promptly to helpline calls, texts and emails
• Evaluating client needs and recording relevant information on Client Screen form
• Scheduling client appointments
• Assisting clients in administration and reading of pregnancy tests
• Accompanying clients to ultrasound appointments
• Engaging in discussion regarding alternatives to abortion, including adoption, in a manner consistent with Catholic Church teaching
• Providing resources and referrals to relevant health, housing and support services
• Ensuring appropriate follow-up visits and education classes
• Consulting Pregnancy Help Nurse Manager on difficult cases

3. Ensure complete and accurate recording of all Pregnancy Help client records.
4. Oversee the efficient management of the Brockton Pregnancy Help office consistent with the Pregnancy Help Office Guidelines and under the direction of the Pregnancy Help Nurse Manager and in coordination with Brockton Caseworker.
5. Assessment of client needs and delivery of client services including regular review of client charts and assignment of appropriate staff member.
6. Offer expertise and training to staff in the management of client cases, including administration of pregnancy testing, ultrasound services, childbirth and parenting education, and client health issues.
7. Schedule staff for proper office coverage and notify Pregnancy Help Nurse Manager of any staff absences which impact office hours.
8. Serve as a liaison with other social service organizations to connect clients to the appropriate agencies for help and support.
9. Network effectively with religious and social service and healthcare institutions in the community to promote the mission of Pregnancy Help, taking the initiative to promote our mission and reporting to the Pro-Life Director about these issues.
10. Oversee volunteer screening and training consistent with policies of the Archdiocese of Boston.
11. Report monthly statistics to the Pregnancy Help Nurse Manager.
12. Work with the Pro Life Office to coordinate the distribution of layette items for clients and collaborative agencies.
13. Maintain inventory and oversee volunteers at the Stoughton storage area.
14. Coordinate with the Pro Life Office for deliveries from parishes to Stoughton.
15. Be available for presentations about Pregnancy Help with the Pro-Life Office director.
16. This position requires one day a week dedicated to Pro-Life office outreach under the supervision of the Pro-Life Office director.
17. Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• RN or similar medical or professional certification
• Ability to provide confidential, compassionate, non-judgmental care for women in crisis as a result of pregnancy
• Ability to interact with associated medical and social service agencies
• Commitment to respect the Church's teaching on abortion, contraception and the dignity of all human life
• Strong service orientation

PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:

• Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
• Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Salary - $52K-$60K
