Director of Parish Life and Ministry

Job Description

St. John Paul II Parish is seeking a Director of Parish Life & Ministry. The Director will collaborate closely with the Pastor to advance the mission of St. John Paul II Parish by fostering an engaged and well-formed parish community.

This position is responsible for strengthening parish ministries, cultivating committed and well-supported volunteers and ministry leaders, and helping parishioners become active participants in the life of the Church. The Director promotes a culture of intentional accompaniment, ensuring that parishioners are personally welcomed, supported, and invited into deeper participation in the sacramental and communal life of the parish.

This role is well suited for someone who believes that vibrant parish life flows from the Eucharist and returns to the Eucharist, and who sees the parish as a unified apostolate serving one mission expressed through worship, service, and community life.

St. John Paul II Parish is an active and growing Roman Catholic parish in Southern Maine, formed in 2020 and serving the communities of Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, and South Portland. The parish is committed to forming disciples, inviting parishioners into intentional participation in the life of the Church, and fostering community. As the parish deepens in faith and mission, it supports the growing local community through the Church's sacraments and liturgical life, formation, and outreach.
