Job Description
Our Lady of Lourdes Interparish School (OLLIS) in Columbia is seeking a dedicated, full-time 7th/8th grade Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. OLLIS is a thriving K-8 Catholic school serving approximately 635 students and is committed to academic excellence and the formation of each child in a Christ-centered community.We are seeking an educator who enjoys working with adolescents, values both high expectations and strong relationships, and is committed to helping students build strong scientific thinking skills through inquiry, hands-on learning, and real-world connections. The ideal candidate brings content expertise, clear instructional practices, and a collaborative approach to supporting student growth.
Position Focus
The 7th/8th Grade Science Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering standards-based instruction in science, incorporating labs and investigations, differentiating to meet diverse learner needs, assessing student progress, and providing timely feedback that helps students improve. The teacher works closely with colleagues to ensure consistency across grade levels and supports a positive classroom culture grounded in respect, accountability, and faith.

Excellence in Education Bonus - Full-time teachers may receive an annual bonus through the Diocesan Excellence in Education Fund (DEEF) (amount varies based on fund performance; recent years have been approximately $1,000 for full-time teachers).

Qualifications
Current teaching certification required
Strong content knowledge in middle school science and effective instructional practices
Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners
