Job Description
The Diocese of Lansing is accepting applications for the Director of Marriage and Family Life Ministry position. This role assists the Bishop of Lansing in his sanctifying responsibilities by leading our diocesan marriage ministry, which helps couples prepare for and live out God's desire for sacramental marriage. Working in collaboration with the parishes, the role prepares and continually educates the people of the diocese to faithfully live the covenant vocation of marriage. The position also provides support and resources through the changing life cycle of marriage and family life, which includes young families, empty nesters, those who have lost a spouse, and those whose marriage is in crisis. We are looking for a practicing Catholic in good standing who has a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in theology or ministry and at least five years of experience in pastoral ministry; experience in marriage ministry is preferred. The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic about working closely with pastors and parish staff who work directly with the couples, providing the parish staff with training, advice, and resources. The position requires a creative individual who is also well-organized and finds joy in seeing projects through to the end. The position requires retreat planning and small to medium sized event planning. While most of the work can be done Monday through Friday, occasional weekend and evening work is required. Candidates must be adept at using Microsoft Office Suite, online webinar platforms such as Teams or Zoom, and have experience creating and managing a budget.
Interested candidates must submit a cover letter of interest, a complete resume, and three references for consideration. This position will remain open until filled.
