Job Title: Development Specialist
Location: Curia - Peoria, IL
Reports to: Director of Development & Stewardship
Job Type: Full-Time

The Catholic Diocese of Peoria is currently seeking a Development Specialist to help strengthen and grow our fundraising efforts across the diocese. By joining our team, you will use your expertise to uphold the mission of the Diocese and make a meaningful impact on our community.

About the Role
• The Development Specialist supports the Catholic Diocese of Peoria by advancing its fundraising initiatives, including major gift fundraising, the annual fund, planned giving and parish funding campaigns.

What You Will Do
• Administrative Support: Assist in the coordination of major gift fundraising efforts, the annual fund, and planned giving to ensure alignment with diocesan goals.
• Parish Campaign Support: Provide parishes with support on designing and implementing successful funding campaigns tailored to their unique needs.
• Donor Relations: Work with Director of Development to design a comprehensive stewardship cultivation plan for all existing and prospective donors.
• Partnership Development: Build relationships with pastors, parish staff, and lay leaders to foster a culture of stewardship and philanthropy.
• Data Analysis: Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Collaboration: Partner with other diocesan departments to align development efforts with broader mission objectives.

What You Will Have
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
• Bachelor's degree
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to foster partnerships and collaboration
• Self-starter and willing to take initiative
• Strong relational and emotional intelligence
• Understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings and parish life

Top Candidates Will Also Have
• Experience in major gift cultivation and solicitation
• Proven experience in fundraising, development, or non-profit management
• Visionary thinking with the ability to turn ideas into actionable plans
• Knowledge of best practices in non-profit fundraising and donor stewardship

o Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on skills and experience.
