Job Description

St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami, Florida is hiring for a full-time Dishwasher/Kitchen Auxiliary who is responsible for keeping the wares for the front and back of the house are clean and sanitized. The Dishwasher/Kitchen Auxiliary will perform a variety of basic janitorial assignments. Actions are normally determined by specific instructions from the supervisor or by following well-defined procedures, methods, and practices. The Dishwasher/Kitchen Auxiliary performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Responsibilities include:
Wash all wares including pots, plans, flatware, and glasses, by hand or using dishwashers.
Correctly place and store clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
Stock serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.
Clean trash receptacles with water or steam.
Move dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to work area by hand or using hand trucks.
May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
Ensure work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High-school diploma or G.E.D.
Valid FL driver license and automobile insurance.
Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service.
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Ability to understand and meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence.
Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.
Detail-oriented and thorough.
Direct physical activity may be required to operate machines or processes.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently.
Demonstrated use of hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
Must be able to stand for significant periods of time.
Must be able to lift and move objects.
Ability to work outdoors when required, in a hot and humid environment, as well as to work in high places.
Able to workdays, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
Good oral and written English-language communication skills.
