Job Description

St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida is seeking a creative, and innovative Economics Teacher for the current 2025-26 school year. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for high school Social Studies. The high school Social Studies teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Social Studies, Economics, Business, or Government. Master's degree preferred.
• FDOE Teaching certificate in Social Sciences grades 9-12, temporary or professional required, or in process of acquiring certification.
• Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience preferred.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Demonstrated technology skills with use of digital books, interactive classroom technology such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Database, and Spreadsheet management, and digital gradebooks.
• Excellent oral and written English communications skills, including clear speaking voice.
• Good spelling and grammar required.
• Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
• Knowledge of the basic tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
