Job Description

The Bookkeeper is hired by, supervised by, and directly accountable to the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A Catholic in good standing committed to the Catholic faith and to Christian living or others who have a positive attitude toward the Catholic faith and a commitment to Christian living.
• Confidentiality.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to operate in an uncertain, at times, stressful environment.
• Ability to work with and interact with others, including professional and support staff, parents, etc.
• Working knowledge of computer hardware/software.
• Knowledge of office equipment, including facsimile machines, copiers, etc.
• Accounting and/or financial knowledge and understanding.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial
• Collect, record, and deposit monies.
• Collect accounts payable and write checks for school expenditures.
• Process payroll
• Manage employee benefits
• Process 401K & Flex paperwork
• Distribute and process financial aid
• Monitor and maintain cash balance in various school bank accounts.
• Assist Principal in operating within budgetary constraints.
• Office liaison with the Finance Committee of the Advisory Council.
• Office liaison with AVB Bank.
