Job Description

St Joseph Catholic Church, Stuart, Florida, seeks an enthusiastic, energetic, and visionary Director of Youth/Young Adult Ministry. The Director will have a passion to work with Middle School, High School, and Young Adults, helping them develop their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ideally, the individual will have a strong faith commitment, be in good standing with the Church, have a degree in Theology and Certification in Youth Ministry with a minimum of three years' experience in a similar position. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Essential Qualifications:
• Demonstrated capacity to develop and lead a comprehensive youth ministry program rooted firmly in Catholic doctrine and parish life, considering the lived realities, struggles, and specific needs of the youth population he or she is serving.
• Strong knowledge of Catholic teaching, particularly:
o Catholic Moral Theology
o Theology of the Body
o Familiarity with YOUCAT and DOCAT as tools for youth catechesis
• Experience leading prayer experiences, Eucharistic Adoration, retreats, small faith-sharing groups, and service opportunities. THE EDGE and LIFE TEEN.
• A good listener and strong communicator who can relate effectively to adolescents.
• Strong digital awareness, including healthy social media boundaries and education regarding inappropriate on-line behavior. Computer literate.
• Clear commitment to maintaining diocesan safe environment protocols and safeguarding standards.
• Leadership skills to recruit, train, and support peer ministry and adult volunteers.
• Strong commitment to parent engagement through meetings, workshops, and ongoing, consistent communication regarding programming, expectations, and any concerns.
• Willingness to provide practical resources and guidance to families navigating current youth challenges.
• Maturity to earn the trust of young people while maintaining proper authority and professional boundaries.
