Faith Formation

St. Faustina Catholic Church, a growing, fast paced parish is seeking to hire a part-time receptionist to support the activities of the Faith Formation team. This position serves as the welcoming face of Saint Faustina Catholic Church primarily during evening hours, extending the parish's mission of hospitality to all who enter the Community Education Center (CEC). In addition to greeting and assisting guests, this position plays a vital role in supporting the administrative, clerical support, and organizational needs of the Faith Formation team. The ideal candidate is bilingual speaking English and Spanish fluently, friendly, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a variety of administrative responsibilities with discretion and professionalism.
Hours & Schedule
This is a part-time evening position (typically Monday-Thursday beginning at 3 pm), approximately 20-25 hours per week. The actual schedule may fluctuate each week. Occasional additional hours may be requested during peak ministry seasons. Flexibility in working daytime hours during the summer months is required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide a warm and welcoming presence at the front desk of the CEC during all evening shifts.
• Greet visitors, answer phones, and aid parishioners and ministry leaders.
• Open and close the CEC building according to established protocols and ensure a safe and orderly environment.
• Assist with data entry related to registration, attendance, and sacramental records using ParishSoft and other tracking systems.
• Prepare, distribute, and collect materials for Faith Formation sessions (e.g., catechist folders, sign-in sheets, parent forms).
• Make copies, organize classroom supplies, and complete other administrative tasks as assigned by the CEC Office Coordinator or Faith Formation leadership.
• Track and document the completion of tasks and assist with follow-up as needed.
• Monitor and manage front desk communications including voicemails, emails, and walk-ins.
• Provide basic tech support (e.g., printing, Wi-Fi connection, AV setup assistance) for ministry meetings and classes when needed.
• Report any building or maintenance issues promptly to CEC Office Coordinator.
Education and Experience:
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative assistance, receptionist, or clerical position including data entry, filing, working with spreadsheets, and office reception duties required.
• Ability to type using a computer keyboard accurately and timely.
• Intermediate level or higher proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
• Must be organized, detailed oriented, and work with urgency to complete tasks in a timely and quality manner.
• Experience using ParishSoft or similar software preferred.
• Fluent in English and Spanish is required.
• Friendly, customer service oriented and professional demeanor with positive interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and be dependable in a dynamic parish setting.
