Reports to: Executive Director, Catholic Climate Covenant
About the Catholic Energies Service Platform (CESP)
The Catholic Energies Service Platform (CESP) is an ambitious, mission-driven
initiative to help the U.S. Catholic Church integrate Catholic teaching on the
environment, as exemplified by Laudato Si' and Laudate Deum (Pope Francis), into
its operations through sustainability, stewardship, and innovation. CESP provides
Catholic institutions with a comprehensive set of offerings - including Net Zero
Planning, Energy Audits & Efficiency Improvements, Solar & Storage, Renewables
Procurement, and Reforestation - delivered through a network of vetted partners
and aligned with Catholic Social Teaching.
Position Summary
The Director of CESP will lead the development, deployment, and scaling of the
platform across dioceses, parishes, schools, and religious communities nationwide.
This role requires a strategic leader with proven ability to manage complex
programs, cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders, and translate vision into
practical offerings. The Director will also be a visible ambassador for Catholic
Energies, communicating the mission to Church leaders, philanthropic partners, and
technical collaborators.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Management
Oversee the launch and implementation of the CESP across its five core offerings.
Develop and execute phased rollout plans with clear milestones,
timelines, and accountability.
Manage budgets, contracts, and reporting to ensure transparency and
alignment with funder requirements.

Relationship Management & Stakeholder Engagement
Build trusted relationships with bishops, diocesan leaders, Catholic
institutions, philanthropic partners, and sustainability experts.
Convene and support the CESP Advisory Team.
Serve as the primary point of contact for partner organizations and
diocesan participants.

Offering Development & Marketing
Refine and expand CESP's service offerings to meet evolving
institutional needs.
Oversee development of communications, marketing strategies, and
success stories.
Oversee creation of professional communications materials, branding,
case studies, and success stories that demonstrate measurable impact.
Build and execute a marketing and outreach strategy that integrates
digital platforms, conferences, and Catholic networks to drive adoption and engagement.
Ensure all offerings are marketed in a way that is technically excellent,
mission-aligned, and resonates with both Catholic leadership and
external partners.

Mission Alignment & Thought Leadership
Infuse Catholic Social Teaching into all aspects of the program.
Ensure that all offerings remain technically excellent and aligned with
Catholic mission and values.
Represent Catholic Energies in public forums, conferences, and Church gatherings.
Advance the Church's role as a leader in sustainability and care for
creation.

Qualifications
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in program management,
relationship management, or business development.
Demonstrated ability to launch, manage, and scale multi-faceted
programs or platforms.
Strong marketing and offering-development skills, with the ability to
position services to diverse stakeholders.
Proven relationship management skills with senior leaders, clients, or
donors.
Alignment with the mission of Catholic Climate Covenant and comfort
working in a faith-based context.
Experience in sustainability and/or energy sectors strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
Ability to thrive in entrepreneurial, collaborative environments.
