Let's Change the World

Many say it-few actually do it.

At Newman Ministry, we believe faith is meant to be shared and lived in community. We're on a mission to ensure every student feels needed and known-building vibrant Catholic community across the country through three integrated initiatives:

Newman Connection - A national nonprofit connecting Catholic high school seniors to campus ministries and activating dioceses, schools, and donors to reach the next generation.

Called - A technology platform empowering ministry leaders to grow discipleship and strengthen community.

Newman Student Housing Fund - A mission-driven student housing initiative creating Inspired Living communities near public universities.

Together, we are building a scalable national movement for the Church.

We're seeking a Director of Development to expand the movement.

If you've ever said, "Just give me the opportunity-I'll make it happen," this might be your moment.

Location: Remote | Dallas Strongly Preferred

What You'll Do:
The Director of Development is a national growth leader responsible for expanding Newman Connection's donor base and revenue engine, beginning with strategic activation in Dallas and scaling nationally.

This role is both relational and strategic. The Director will cultivate major and recurring donors, design and execute high-impact engagement initiatives, secure grant funding, and help build the long-term systems required to scale sustainable philanthropic growth.

This is not a maintenance role. It is a builder's seat.

The ideal candidate is either:
A proven fundraising operator capable of producing immediate results, or
A high-capacity, coachable relationship builder with demonstrated performance in a comparable environment who is ready to step into a national development leadership path.

Core Responsibilities:
Donor Portfolio Management
Build, cultivate, and steward a qualified portfolio of donors and prospects.
Close recurring and major gifts in alignment with annual revenue targets.
Execute disciplined pipeline management within CRM systems (HubSpot + Classy).
Provide weekly reporting on revenue, activity, and forecast accuracy.

National Growth & Strategy
Collaborate with executive leadership to refine and execute a national donor growth strategy.
Contribute to segmentation, recurring giving programs, and major gift pathways.
Participate in long-term revenue modeling and donor journey optimization.

Events & Activations
Plan and execute intimate donor gatherings and strategic activation events.
Represent Newman Connection at Catholic conferences, diocesan events, and key gatherings.
Serve as a visible ambassador for the mission in key Catholic markets and events.

Grant Development
Identify, research, and pursue aligned grant opportunities.
Lead proposal writing, submission, and reporting processes.
Build a repeatable grant acquisition system aligned with national expansion.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing to develop compelling storytelling and campaign strategy.
Align with program leadership to translate measurable impact into donor-facing narratives.
Contribute to the development of scalable systems that reduce dependency on individual effort.

Success Metrics:
Performance expectations will scale based on experience level, but targets include:
Build and manage a portfolio of 75-125 qualified prospects
Close, grow, and manage $1.3M in combined recurring and major gifts
Launch 3-5 strategic donor activations
Submit 6-15 qualified grant proposals
Contribute meaningfully to national donor journey and pipeline system design
This role is accountable for measurable revenue outcomes.

What You Need to Get the Job Done:
2-7 years of experience in fundraising, sales, business development, ministry advancement, or comparable relationship-driven performance roles
Demonstrated evidence of closing financial commitments, contracts, partnerships, or campaigns
Strong relational intelligence and executive presence
High personal ownership and disciplined follow-through
Comfort operating within CRM and fundraising technology systems
Willingness to travel nationally
Alignment with the Catholic mission of Newman Ministry

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You:
Experience in Catholic diocesan development, campus ministry advancement, political fundraising, or Catholic media
Experience building or scaling a fundraising program
Grant writing experience
Bilingual or culturally connected to diverse Catholic communities

And one of the following describes you:
Proven Builder: You have closed gifts at scale and can immediately generate revenue while refining systems and expanding reach.
High-Capacity Emerging Leader: You demonstrate exceptional relational aptitude, measurable performance in prior roles, and a strong desire to master donor development. With coaching and structure, you are ready to scale quickly into revenue ownership.

What You'll Love About Us:
Mission That Matters - The opportunity to shape one of the most important Catholic movements of this generation.
100% Remote Work Environment - Eastern or Central Time Zones required
Technology Set Up - Company MacBook and a stipend for tools to help you succeed.
Great Company Culture - We are a team. We work as one. We act as one.
Work that Stays at Work - Genuine work/life balance.
Rest and Relaxation - Generous paid time off, including 12 paid holidays plus company-wide closure from Christmas to New Year.
Health & Retirement Benefits - Comprehensive coverage to support your overall well-being and future. We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, supplemental benefit options, and a 401(k)-retirement plan.
Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

All qualified applicants will be considered for employment at Newman Ministry without regard to race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic predisposition or carrier status, veteran, marital, or citizenship status, or any other status protected by law.
