Job Description
St. Mark Catholic Church is seeking a joyful, organized, and faith-filled person to serve as Assistant Director of Religious Education (ADRE) and help lead faith formation programs in our growing parish. This role is central to forming young people and families in the Catholic faith and supporting their encounter with Christ through catechesis and the Sacraments.The ideal candidate is confident teaching the Catholic Faith, enthusiastic in recruiting and forming volunteers, comfortable managing multiple processes and details, and willing to adapt and grow in service of our parish community.
The ADRE leads PreK-8th grade Religious Education, First Communion, Confirmation, and SPRED; supports OCIA and Adult Faith Formation; and collaborates with Youth Ministry in 7-8th grade classes and Confirmation retreats. This role also plays a key part in forming and supporting catechists, communicating with families, maintaining student records in PDS, and updating the Faith Formation section of the website, and assists with processing program income and expenses.
The ADRE works closely with the Director of Religious Education and collaborates regularly with our Director of Youth Ministry, Faith Formation Associate, and the St. Mark clergy and staff.
A Bachelor's degree in Catechetics, Education, Theology, or a related field is required, along with experience in Religious Education. Candidates should be confident teaching the Catholic Faith, have an active prayer and sacramental life, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. Familiarity with PDS, Microsoft Teams (or similar tools), ParishSoft, and Constant Contact is helpful.
