Job Description
Faculty Position in Psychology at Conception Seminary College.The Behavioral and Social Sciences Department at Conception Seminary College invites applications for a full-time open-rank professor of psychology position beginning Fall Semester 2026. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
Conception Seminary College, an undergraduate Roman Catholic seminary, is located in northwest Missouri. The Benedictine monks of Conception Abbey established Conception Seminary College, its primary apostolic ministry, in 1886. The mission of Conception Seminary College is the preparation of candidates for the ordained ministry in the Roman Catholic Church. Conception's faculty and staff are comprised of monks and laypersons working side-by-side to provide a holistic approach to seminary formation. Academic studies at Conception Seminary College are the key component of intellectual formation, which is integrated with human formation, spiritual formation, and pastoral formation. Through this integration, Conception seeks to form each man at the college level prior to further formation and graduate-level theological and pastoral studies.
Minimum Qualifications
• Earned doctorate in psychology
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate students
• Commitment to teaching, service, and scholarship consistent with the mission of Conception Seminary College
• Commitment to collaborating with Seminary faculty and formation personnel in the overall intellectual, human, spiritual, and pastoral formation of future Catholic priests. The seminary follows the guidelines set forth in the Program for Priestly
Formation, 6th Ed., developed by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops
• Respect for the Catholic Church's moral teachings
Responsibilities
• Teach 3-4 courses (9-12 credit hours), both semesters (Fall and Spring) on Campus
• Teach Intro to Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Development, and courses consistent with one's interests and specialization. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach one or more of the following courses: Personality, Psychology of Religion, Psychopathology, and Research Methods
• Provide administrative leadership in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department
