Reports To: Principal
Employment Type: Full-Time | 12-Month Contract | $40,000 Salary

Position Summary:
St. Patrick Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic 4th Grade Elementary Classroom Teacher to join our close-knit microschool community. With a guaranteed class size capped at 15 students, excellent student behavior, and highly supportive families, our school offers a unique and rewarding teaching environment.
This position includes:
No lunch or recess duties
1.5-2 hours of daily lunch and preparation time
Collaborative and mission-driven team culture
The 4th Grade Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in core academic subjects including Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. This role fosters both academic achievement and personal development, helping students prepare for the transition to middle school.
Note: Religion instruction is led by a separate faculty member.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development & Instruction
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with Illinois State Standards and school curriculum.
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Assessment & Evaluation
Implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
Use data to inform instruction and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Classroom Management
Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture.
Encourage responsibility, curiosity, and academic excellence.
Differentiated Instruction
Modify instruction to support varied learning styles, abilities, and interests.
Employ accommodations as needed to ensure equitable learning outcomes.
Technology Integration
Leverage educational technology to enhance teaching and student engagement.
Collaboration & Communication
Maintain strong partnerships with parents and work cooperatively with colleagues.
Actively contribute to school-wide initiatives and team meetings.
Professional Development
Engage in ongoing professional learning aligned with best practices in education and Catholic school values.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or a related field (required).
Certification:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (or eligible).
Experience:
Prior teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
Skills:
Strong communication, organization, instructional, and classroom management skills.
Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and child-centered learning.
