Job Description
St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Astoria is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Director of Religious Education (DRE) to lead and grow our parish Religious Education program.Program Details:
Sundays, 10:30am to 12 Noon
Students attend the 9:30am Mass prior to class
Current enrollment of approximately 50 students
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate the parish religious education program
Recruits and trains catechists
Schedules classes, retreats, rehearsals and liturgies
Develop strategies to increase student enrollment
RCIA Preparation
Communicates with families
Maintain a welcoming and faith-centered environment for students and families
Maintain Sacramental records
Collaborate with Academy staff on sacramental preparation, including:
First Penance, First Holy Communion, Confirmation
Schedule:
Sundays(program hours0
Two additional on-site days during the week
Compensation:
Salary is negotiable, based on experience
