Youth Evangelization Coordinator

Job Description

Position Summary:
The Youth Evangelization Coordinator provides assistance to the Director of Youth Evangelization to plan and implement
ministry for middle and high school youth, including coordination of the sacramental preparation process for youth.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Building Christ-centered relationships with middle and high school youth through relational ministry.
• Building relationships with adults in the parish to support the Church's mission of evangelization to young
people.
• Assisting in the formation of adult volunteers to empower them to mentor young people in becoming lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.
• Leading the planning and facilitation of weekly high school youth ministry opportunities that are social, formational, prayerful, and service-oriented.
• Coordinating with the Director of Youth Evangelization to develop a new high school youth ministry plan tailoredto the unique context of the parish, to be implemented in the next 1-2 years.
• Assisting in the facilitation and administration of Confirmation, including building relationships with high school teens who are being Confirmed, leading small groups, and supporting the Director with administrative tasks.
• Supporting middle school youth ministry by coordinating and leading opportunities for high school teens to mentor at Edge.
• Supporting large experiences such as the annual weekend retreat for Confirmation, weekend retreat for Edge, Summer Camp at Camp Hidden Lake, and local camps with the Missionaries of Charity.
• Assisting in maintaining an online and social media presence to keep youth digitally connected to St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
• Working closely with the Evangelization Team and other members of the St. Gabriel staff to fulfill the mission of the parish.

Requirements:
- Must be a fully initiated and practicing Catholic who loves working with teens and is excited to evangelize and disciple young people in the Catholic faith.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in social media and online communication platforms.

Work Schedule:
- Full-time position with the expectation of evening and weekend work to support youth ministry events and activities.
Travel required for camps and retreats.
