Associate Director for Digital Evangelization & Media
Location: St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Madison
Department: Evangelization & Mission
Reports To: Director of Evangelization and Mission
Status: Full-Time

Position Summary
The Associate Director for Digital Evangelization & Media at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish is a dynamic role that combines digital outreach, graphic design, and parish communications to spread the Gospel and engage the faithful. This position works closely with the Director of Evangelization and Mission to develop compelling digital content, manage parish media, and ensure all communications align with the parish's mission and Catholic identity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Evangelization Strategy
• Develop and implement a parish-wide digital evangelization plan (website, social media, email, video, podcasts) to inspire discipleship and community engagement.
• Create theologically rich, visually appealing content (graphics, videos, blog posts) that reflects the beauty of the Catholic faith.
• Monitor social media and web analytics to optimize engagement and reach.
o Use Google Analytics to measure online metrics, report metrics to Pastor.
2. Graphic Design & Media Oversight
• Design print and digital materials (flyers, banners, social media graphics) using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or Procreate.
• Ensure a consistent visual identity across all parish communications (logos, fonts, colors, messaging).
• Oversee the production of videos, livestreams (Masses/events), and podcasts in collaboration with parish staff.
3. Parish Communications Management
• Manage the parish's website, social media channels, and parish pamphlets.
• Weekly Bulletin
o Gather articles and scheduling details, Design and align publication (Canva)
o Send to publisher (LPI)
o Coordinate and facilitate volunteers to insert bulletin flyers and/or mail bulletins to homebound
• Weekly digital newsletter (Flocknote)
• Coordinate with clergy, staff, and ministries to promote events, sacraments, and faith formation programs.
• Develop a content calendar to ensure timely and relevant messaging.
4. Collaboration & Reporting
• Work closely with the Director of Evangelization and Mission to align digital efforts with parish goals.
• Train and support parish staff/volunteers in digital tools and best practices.
• Provide monthly reports on engagement metrics and recommend improvements.

Qualifications & Skills
• Practicing Catholic with understanding of Church structure/sacraments
o Commitment to the Catholic mission of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish: We are an evangelizing parish where people encounter Jesus in a way that changes how they live.
• Multi-tasking, organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and perform outlined tasks with minimum supervision.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in various forms.
• Capable of performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure and able to adapt to changes in routine and schedule.
• Ability to accept direction and support the process for the focus, control or planning of an activity.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly
• Bachelor's degree (Graphic Design, Communications, Theology, or related field preferred).
• 3+ years in digital media, marketing, or parish ministry.
• Proficiency in:
o Graphic design (Canva, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop)
o Social media management (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
o Website CMS (WordPress, Squarespace)
o Basic video/audio editing (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Audacity)
o Google Analytics
• Strong writing, storytelling, and project management skills.

Schedule:

Compensation:
• This position is a full time, salaried position. Applicant will be awarded a generous base salary and health care benefits, including contribution to a Health Savings Account if you elect to be covered by the health insurance plan. Other benefits include a 401(k) retirement plan, vacation time and sick time.
