Position Description

The Director of Events and Partnerships is a senior position, responsible for advancing ICLE's mission through the planning and implementation of various events and programming. The portfolio of ICLE events that this position oversees and manages, in close collaboration with the Event and Program Manager, includes the National Conference (ICLE's largest event), the Superintendent Summit & Retreat, the Symposium for Priests, the ICLE Team Retreat, the Spirit & Craft of Teaching programs, School Spotlights, Regional and School Workshops, and various leadership programs. Together, these events constitute ICLE's largest service line and bring together Catholic educators, school leaders, partner organizations, priests, vowed religious, bishops, and superintendents from across the country and overseas.

A key component of this role is managing ICLE's Premier Partnership Program, which entails curating, managing, and advancing relationships with mission-fit partners for ICLE.

This role reports to the President and works closely with external parties and ICLE's leadership team.

Primary Responsibilities

-Under the direction of the President, own and manage the coordination of and planning for ICLE events, including lodging and catering where needed.
-Manage the part-time Event and Program Manager position.
-Maintain ICLE's event-related standards across its entire offering of events and programs, with an eye toward consistency and excellence.
-In collaboration with the President and leadership team, direct the Premier Partnership Program by cultivating new relationships and nurturing existing ones, designing and managing the annual program for the overall benefit of ICLE, its audience, and its partner organizations.
-Ensure the planning and execution of the National Conference, ICLE's largest annual event. (This could entail overseeing site selection, conducting venue site visits, establishing contracts with outside contractors, and managing end-to-end logistical operations, including registration, food and beverage, audio-visual, speaker management, and vendor hall management).
-Oversee and manage all event budgets, maintaining healthy programs while also ensuring fiscal responsibility and cost management.
-Communicate with internal and external participants regarding logistics, registration, deadlines, staff assignments, venue details, etc. to ensure the smooth running of events.
-Collaborate with ICLE's Director of Communications to market events and drive registration, including the timing of website updates, email blasts, and social media posts.
-With ICLE's Operations Associate, utilize ICLE's event management platform to set up new events and adjust registrations.
-Collaborate closely with the CEFC Program Associate with regard to CEFC-related events, i.e. in-person workshops and related events.

-Active and practicing Catholic who supports the full teachings of the Catholic Church, specifically regarding matters related to faith and morals.
-Must promote the stated mission of ICLE and its vision and approach to Catholic Liberal Arts education.

General Skills
-Excellent written and oral communication skills.
-Excellent, proven organizational and project management skills, including the capacity to coordinate tasks amongst various team members and coordinate multiple projects at a time.
-Excellent capacity to work independently and autonomously, particularly in a remote environment.
-Empathetic and people-oriented -- must be able to form and cultivate relationships with a wide range of staff, faculty, partner organizations, educators, and administrators.
-Ability to work collaboratively amongst multiple team members and respond quickly to shifting priorities.
-Proactive professional who sees what needs to be done and works within team environment to accomplish it.
-Experience managing large, multi-day events for up to 600 participants.

Technical Skills
-Capacity and willingness to quickly learn new technology platforms (e.g., Stellar, WordPress, MailChimp), with training from ICLE team members.
-Proficiency in working with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
-Experience with project management systems preferred.

Other
-Ability and willingness to travel for programs when necessary.
-At least 5 years of experience in planning and executing events, preferably on a medium-to-large scale.
-Bachelor's Degree required.
