Job Description
The Assistant Principal at St. Peter Catholic School will be responsible for communication with Lincoln Public Schools Special Education services, the implementation of general faith, academic and guidance initiatives and serve in partnership with the Principal regarding day-to-day activities.Qualifications: Elementary/Junior High Teacher Certification. Previous teacher experience with additional experience and endorsements/certifications in Special Education, Counseling-Student Assistance and/or Administration are preferred but not required.

• Ability to design and deliver educational programs for students.
General Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain confidentiality with student and family situations.
• Academic/Behavior support.
o Track students who are failing and support students and teachers to improve the student's academic standing (ex. absenteeism and/or behavior issues)
o Be able to communicate with parents (ex. phone calls/meetings). This may include referring a student to Student Assistant Teams and/or counseling, using LPS or SCIP Coordinator.
o Work with 2-8 grade students in small group or one-on-one with remedial math and reading support
o Implement progress monitoring tools (ex. CLT / LEXIA / IXL) to collect data on student academic ability.
o Email Junior High academically struggling students and their parents each week with upcoming tests (take a picture of jr high test calendar and send as bcc to all).
o Log and track all student behaviors and parent communications using PowerSchool.
o Manage grade level transition forms and distribute (along with all 504's and IEPs) to teachers at the beginning of the year. Also, place transition forms on the t-drive
• Special Education support. Work closely with Lincoln Public Schools to support students and attend all special education meetings, including a monthly collaborative meeting with LPS specialists.
o Support LPS Speech Specialist to work one-on-one with K - 1 students to improve articulation
o Keep a log of all students with special education plans, including SATs, 504s, and IEPs
o Attend all LPS MDT1, MDT2 ,and IEP meetings for students (usually at 3:30 pm)
o School 504 Plan Coordinator and will implement a 504 Plan for a student who is eligible with teachers, parents, and student
o Schedule and lead annual 504 Plan meetings with parents, students, and teachers
o Communicate well accommodations and modifications for students to teachers
• Guidance support:
o Maintain and build up TeamMates program within the school as well as communicate with TeamMates district coordinator. (Currently have 12 students with TeamMate mentors)
o Lead the SCIP (School Community Intervention & Prevention) team consisting of 4-5 teachers and principal and communicate with the SCIP coordinator
o Manage students on a CICO (Check-in Check-out) plan using Excel and coordinate CICO with teachers and students.
o Teach a weekly Social Emotional Learning class with 6th grade. (This includes teaching virtues, self-regulation, empathy, interpersonal skills, TOB, discernment of spirits, faith formation)
• Administration/Outreach
o Support teachers regarding student needs (ex. daily).
o Observe teachers.
o Assist parents with online forms, ex. Good Shepherd Scholarship
• Student Council moderator
o Meet Assist St. Peter Catholic School and Parish and Catholic Social Services (CSS) with Christmas Adopt-a-Family
o Assist with school outreach events
