Job Description

Job Title: Coordinator of Family and Respect Life
Department/ Location: Secretariat for New Evangelization
Reports to: Director of Family and Respect Life
Job Classification: 30-40 hours per week, Hourly

Job Summary:
The Coordinator of Family and Respect Life will aid our office in its mission to work with the Diocese of Fall River's parishes, personnel and agencies to evangelize and form engaged disciples for Christ.

Our office's vision is to transform the culture by being a leader in effective evangelization, transformative catechesis, and relational outreach that leads people to Christ and His Church.

Duties/Responsibilities:
This position will:
Work with the Director of Family & Respect Life to administer and run the Diocesan marriage and remarriage preparation programs, and marriage mentor couples
Administer FOCCUS implementation, including payments, logistics, and FOCCUS grading
Work with the Secretary for the New Evangelization to help coordinate ministry and support to the different multicultural and ethnic communities in the diocese
Formulate relevant training opportunities, continuing education, workshops, written materials, electronic resources, and curriculum development
Develop a base of NFP consultants, instructors, and resources for parish and couple use
Curate and update resources for marriage mentor couple use and recruitment
Coordinate the necessary logistics of Diocesan events, including the Walk for Life, Pro-Life Bootcamp, Mass for Life, Essay Contest, Cardinal O'Connor Award, World Meeting of Families, marriage encounters and retreats
Help organize Diocesan responses to the annual Respect Life Month and National Marriage Week
Help in coordinating Pro-Life support initiatives, including Project Rachel and Walking with Moms in Need
Represent the Diocese in professional and ecclesial organizations supporting family, marriage, pro-life and multicultural ministries as assigned
All other duties as assigned by the Director for Family & Respect Life or Secretary for the New Evangelization

Additionally, this position will help the umbrella office to:
Provide assistance and ongoing support to parishes, schools, and personnel as needed or assigned
Coordinate communications/marketing, office supply ordering, and events calendar/promotion as needed or assigned
Develop strategic planning, annual goals and adhere to its mission and vision, especially regarding its work for and with family, marriage, and pro-life ministries
Collaborate with other Office personnel and Directors, so as to create a holistic approach to evangelization and catechesis
Incorporate the needs and perspectives of different ethnic groups and those with disabilities in all programming

Required Skills/Abilities:
Deep faith and personal commitment to the life of the Catholic Church
In depth knowledge of the Catholic Church, its mission, teachings, structures, and ministerial life
Fluent in Portuguese or Spanish preferred
Creative and forward thinking, with the ability to translate best practices and data driven trends into practical ministry
Demonstrated leadership and organizational ability, skills and desire for collaboration, together with ability to take initiative and work independently
Strong communication skills, both written and oral; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of groups
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Knowledge and skills to do research, writing, and prepare formational materials and programs; ability to organize, conduct, and evaluate formation programs
Ability to do long range planning and project management
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite of products
Ability to work regularly in the field and travel independently throughout the Diocese

Education and Experience:
Must be a practicing Catholic and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church
Bachelor's degree in theology or social service (psychology, sociology, counseling, education)
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively and tactfully with other public and private agencies

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weight of 10-50 pounds.
Ability to sit, hear, talk and use repetitive motion of the hands/wrists
Ability to perform work in and out of the office setting
