The Special Projects Coordinator works in person and full-time in the administrative offices of the Pontifical Faculty (PF) at the Dominican House of Studies (DHS) in Washington, D.C. The holder of this position reports to the President of the Pontifical Faculty, and collaborates with the Dean and with the other key staff members of the faculty's administration.

The SPC acts on behalf of the President and the Faculty both internally and externally, with respect to the portfolio of projects and tasks assigned by the President, the Dean, and other senior staff. In addition, the SPC is tasked with important ongoing administrative functions for the smooth running of the Faculty.

This position calls for an individual who is eminently trustworthy; is ready to take initiative and to work independently; has good judgment; is self-motivated, hard-working, and able to work without constant supervision; has strong organizational abilities and attention to detail; and is strongly motivated by the DHS's mission.

The ideal candidate will be adept at developing action plans for assigned project, seeking appropriate review and approval for those plans, executing the plans in accord with instructions received, and providing timely reporting and updates on the status of the projects. This will require the ability to coordinate a busy agenda, to anticipate problems and take initiative, and to prepare correspondence and reports to be sent on behalf of the President or the Faculty.

All members of the DHS administrative team are encouraged to participate in the regular liturgical life of the Dominican friars (e.g., step away from work for Mass, the daily midday rosary, the divine office, etc.).

Examples of the Special Project Coordinator's regular responsibilities:
Is responsible for developing a plan for student recruitment for the PF's degree programs and other activities, and has primary responsibility as a first contact for inquiries from prospective students. The plan should include a standard procedure for information to be collected from prospective students, and a marketing and communications plan for encouraging new prospective students to apply and matriculate at the PF.

Takes primary responsibility for communications projects on behalf of the PF administration. This includes plans for regular updates to and cultivation of donors and other contacts, and coordinating the preparation of promotional literature for the faculty (e.g., for special events, for use in fundraising, for student recruitment).

Supervises maintenance and updates of the dhs.edu website, and develops a plan for systematic upgrades and improvements to the site, and to the digital outreach of the PF more broadly, including any PF social media accounts.

Supports the President and Dean with respect to special events held by the PF, like special lectures, conference, donor cultivation events, formation workshops, and faculty events (like internal faculty seminars, study groups, and symposia).

Organizes and executes, in coordination with the President, faculty retreats, colloquia, and other events for external faculty (e.g., for professors at other institutions).

Under direction from the President and from PF Development staff, prepares grant applications on behalf of the PF, and has care of all reporting and tracking activites for grants received.

May be asked to maintain donor records in Salesforce database, and to maintain other digital and paper records and filing systems.

Desired Qualifications:
At least a B.A. degree or its equivalent;
Good verbal and written communication skills;
2-5 years of experience in a position calling for responsibility, good judgment, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Knowledge of the Catholic intellectual tradition and motivation to spread the faith by intellectual evangelization;
Familiarity with Word and Excel are a plus.

This position is a full-time, in-office position in Washington, D.C., and requires full-time residency in the greater Washington (DMV) area.
