Job Description
The Basilica School of Saint Mary, a Catholic Pre-K through eight Parish School in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking a qualified teacher for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd religious instruction for the 2026-2027 School year. The Basilica School is expanding their Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program to grade two. The program has added a level each year since its founding in 2023. Our Catechist will work closely with the Director of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program in a highly collaborative manner committed to offering excellence in our youngest students' intellectual, spiritual, and character formation. Qualified candidates will fully embrace the mission of our Catholic school, which recognizes the infinite value of each student, seeks to develop the gifts of all, and nurtures them to be saints, stewards, and scholars, always with an eye to their eternal destiny. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and certification in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd required. Ideal candidates will hold a Master's degree, hold or be willing to work towards teaching certification, and have previous Pre-K instructional experiences.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Certification, and experience with instructing Pre-K or early elementary age children.
Physical Demands
Stairs, lift 20 lbs, travel between classrooms and through the campus.
