Job Description
The Basilica School of Saint Mary, a vibrant Catholic Pre-K through eight parish school in the Diocese of Arlington serving more than 750 students, seeks a warm, organized, and mission-driven Main Office Administrative Assistant and Receptionist.As the first point of contact for our school community, this individual plays an essential role in creating a welcoming environment for students, parents, visitors, faculty, and staff. The successful candidate will embrace the mission of Catholic education and that of the Basilica School of Saint Mary, to nurture Saints, Stewards, and Scholars through service, professionalism, and joyful hospitality.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Welcome and assist parents, students, visitors, and faculty with warmth, professionalism, and Christian hospitality.
Serve as the primary receptionist by answering and directing phone calls and responding to general inquiries.
Manage visitor access and ensure that all school security and check-in procedures are consistently followed.
Coordinate daily attendance procedures, including verifying student attendance and communicating with teachers and families as needed.
Maintain school calendars and assist with the coordination of school events and schedules.
Process incoming mail, deliveries, and packages.
Coordinate student arrivals, early dismissals, and end-of-day dismissal procedures.
Provide administrative support to the Principal, Office Manager, faculty, and staff while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Assist with the daily operation of the Main Office and other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates will:

Support the spiritual, intellectual, and moral formation of students through professional conduct, joyful service, and fidelity to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Possess outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Demonstrate excellent customer service and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment.
Be proficient with technology, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn school information systems such as PowerSchool, Schoology, and Pickup Patrol.
Maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work collaboratively as a member of a faith-filled school community.

Compensation and Benefits
$22 - 26 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
