Coordinator of Youth Ministry

Job Description:
Guided by the Director of Religious Education this position is a Coordinator of Youth Ministry that will serve the Tri-Parishes (Holy Rosary, St. Mary's, Sacred Heart and Assumption Catholic School) to develop, organize, and administer a total youth ministry program. The programs will assist the parish community in building a solid foundation for spirituality, Christian living, and ministry, providing youth and adult outreach for the combined membership of the Tri-Parishes. The Parish Youth Coordinator will have a passion for evangelizing, sharing the Roman Catholic faith and helping the parish community to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ and His Church.

Qualifications:
-The Parish Youth Coordinator must be living in full sacramental communion with the Catholic Church.
-It is preferred that this person have a Bachelor's degree in theology, youth ministry, catechetics, or a related field.
-Some experience in youth ministry, religious education, event planning and fundraising
is preferred.
-Must have a passion for working with youth and sharing your Catholic faith.
-Ability to work with a diversity of youth and adults.
-Ability to create, organize, prioritize, manage multiple priorities, computer knowledge and work with minimal supervision.
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
-Leadership and mentoring skills, comfortable with public speaking.
-Willing to take training, when offered, in areas of Youth Ministry, -Religious Education and continued Faith Formation.
-Familiarity and conformity with the guidelines and policies of the Diocese of La Crosse.

Responsibilities:
1. Support the Religious Education and Youth Ministry programs as determined by the DRE
2. Articulates a vision for Youth Ministry.
3. Continue programs in place that meet the needs of the parishes but look to implement
programs that would enhance Youth Ministry
4. Recruits, trains, and supervises, youth ministry volunteers.
5. Secure materials needed for programs in accordance with Diocesan recommendations.
6. Prepare and monitor budgets for programs. This includes overseeing several fundraisers to help support youth events.
7. Lead a Youth Ministry program that engages the hearts of our youth through experiences such as regular youth group meetings, youth rallies, youth Masses, mission trips, retreats, social events, and conferences.
8. Assist with the Confirmation program by helping with keeping records of all Confirmation requirements such as: students service hours, retreat requirements, Saints reports, parish information sheets, and Confirmation rehearsal along with duties as needed by the DRE and Pastor.
9. Attend parish staff meeting, Youth Ministry/Religious Ed. Committee meetings, and Parish council meetings as requested.
10. Pursue continued professional and spiritual growth, and knowledge of the Catholic faith.
11. Any other duties as assigned by the Pastor and DRE

Work Area:
Parish addresses, and occasional travel for meetings, events, trainings, and youth ministry trips. The CYM requires a lot of flexibility for evening and week-end hours but you must have at least 3 days of some consistent office hours.

Working Conditions: The Parish Youth Coordinator is a full time position. An office will be provided, along with appropriate accessories and equipment.

Vehicle Requirement: This employee must provide his/her own vehicle to travel between the three parishes, and occasionally to the Diocesan offices for meeting/trainings. Mileage will be reimbursed at the current IRS rate for travel to Diocesan meetings/training.
