Coordinator of Youth Ministry
Reports to Director of Faith Formation & Pastor

This requires a BA in Theology, Religious Education, or a related educational field, or a certificate in ministry or theology from a Catholic institution of higher learning.

A. Primary Responsibilities of this Position

The Coordinator of Youth Ministry is responsible for developing and implementing an annual ministry program based on the needs of our parish youth.

Assists in promoting vision of comprehensive youth ministry for youth in grades 6-12.

B. General Responsibilities

Serves as a member of the parish staff in decisions related to total parish direction and activities. Attends staff meetings and faith formation team meetings.

As a member of the Faith Formation Team, participates in the planning and implementation of team activities.

Prepares an annual budget in in harmony with administrative staff.

Develops a calendar for the year in conjunction with the overall parish calendar.

Organizes and manages suitable fundraising activities.

Meets regularly with the Director of Faith Formation to ensure effective communication with and coordination of the 9-12 programs.

Participates in Diocesan Youth Ministry planning and implementation of youth ministry activities, maintaining a solid relationship with Diocesan staff.

C. Work Environment

This position entails frequent evening and weekend work with occasional travel for offsite work.
