Position Summary
The Youth Ministry Coordinator serves as a member of the Faith Formation team and works collaboratively with parish staff, volunteers, and families to foster the spiritual growth of middle and high school youth. This position coordinates faith formation, fellowship, discipleship, and service opportunities that invite young people to encounter Jesus Christ, deepen their relationship with Him, and become active participants in the life of the Church.

This position offers the opportunity to help grow and strengthen youth ministry at Epiphany Parish by building relationships, developing opportunities for evangelization, discipleship, and service, and inviting young people into the life of the parish.

Key Responsibilities
Build relationships with middle and high school youth and their families, fostering a welcoming environment where young people can grow in faith and become active participants in parish life.
Plan, coordinate, and lead youth ministry opportunities for middle and high school students, including faith formation, prayer, fellowship, service, and other activities that support their growth as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Collaborate with the Faith Formation team to support youth faith formation and sacramental preparation.
Develop and coordinate retreats, service opportunities, leadership development, and other special events that foster the spiritual growth of youth.
Coordinate and promote participation in parish, diocesan, regional, and national youth events, including Love Begins Here, Frassati Fest, the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC), and other opportunities.
Recruit, train, support, and recognize volunteers serving in youth ministry.
Foster leadership opportunities by developing and mentoring a team of teen leaders.
Collaborate with clergy, parish staff, parents, catechists, and the parish school to strengthen youth ministry while fostering unity and participation across our English and Spanish speaking communities.
Participate in parish staff meetings, diocesan training opportunities, and ongoing professional development.
Work with parish communications staff to promote youth ministry events and opportunities.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in theology or a related field preferred. Equivalent education and ministry experience will be considered.
Experience working with middle school and high school youth, either professionally or as a volunteer, preferred.

Qualifications
Practicing Catholic committed to the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to build relationships with youth, families, volunteers, and parish staff.
Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a parish team.
Completion of diocesan Safe Environment requirements.

Work Environment
Youth ministry takes place both in and outside the parish office. This position includes office responsibilities as well as regular evening and occasional weekend ministry through faith formation, parish events, retreats, service opportunities, and other activities that support the life of the parish.

Travel Requirements
Occasional local and regional travel is required for parish, diocesan, and national youth ministry events.
