Job Description

Summary:
Provides maintenance and repair service to buildings, facilities and property including semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and other minor repair work. On call for emergency response to the needs of the above parish locations. May also perform specialized functions with regard to equipment operations and boiler maintenance. Supervise other members of the maintenance staff to ensure routine cleaning of the buildings and properties for all 3.campuses.

This ministry requires full compliance with the Safe Environment Policy of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

Knowledge and Skills:
• Operation of building systems such as electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, HVAC, controls, hardware, roofing
• Operation of power tools, routine construction and repair techniques
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
• Capacity to take direction
• Strong attention to detail
• Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds as necessary.
• Ability to priority tasks and supervise other staff members

Examples of Duties:
• Operate small truck or van.
• Identify maintenance problems.
• Perform electrical, plumbing, heating and carpentry and light construction assignments.
• Monitor inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain inventories/records as directed.
• Window and light fixture cleaning/maintenance.
• Operate equipment and machinery such as generators, boilers, and air conditioners, locking devices, utility systems and power tools.
• Perform maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Grounds work may include mowing, pruning, and ice/snow removal.
• Assist Directors of programs at facilities and their staff when needed.
• Shares in the other duties common to the staff of the parish-e.g., attendance at staff meetings as required, cooperation in crafting and complying with a budget, and adjusting responsibilities to changing priorities.
• Schedule daily duties of other maintenance staff
• Make sure maintenance staff have the resources they need to fulfill their responsibilities, and flourish as members of the parish staff.
• Will see that the subordinate staff comply with the Safe Environment Policies.
• Help maintenance staff clean parish buildings and property as needed
• Help maintenance staff set up for parish/ministry events as needed
• Delivery of material/supplies from one church property to another as needed
• Pickup and delivery of articles, equipment, and furniture.
• Respond to inspection of buildings regarding security and existing conditions.

About the Employer

We are a parish of three churches serving the Bellevue, Emsworth and Franklin Park areas of Pennsylvania.
In 1954, four years after the dogma of the Assumption was declared, Pope Pius XII established the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. On August 22. This memorial is placed as an octave, that is, eight days after celebrating Mary's Assumption into Heaven. The Queenship can be considered a prolongation of the celebration of the Assumption.
