Job Description

The Church of the Nativity Parish and School in Leawood, Kansas, a vibrant and hospitable Catholic community with 2200+ families, seeks an Associate Director of Music to join our team. The Associate Director of Music collaborates with the Director of Music and our Pastor to oversee the liturgical life of the parish and lead our community in song at Masses, sacramental celebrations, and other liturgies and parish events. A deep love of Jesus Christ and an authentic desire to support our community's full, conscious, and active participation in the liturgy animate the ministry carried out by the Associate Director of Music.

Currently, we have a large Adult Choir, a 50-voice Children's Choir, a growing 6th - 12th Grade Youth Choir, a 3-octave Handbell Choir, a Funeral Choir, a committed team of parish cantors, and several youth and adult instrumentalists. Accompanists lead the assembly with our 3 manual, 37 rank pipe organ (https://quimbypipeorgans.com/church-of-the-nativity/) and a Yamaha C7 grand piano.

Qualified candidates will possess strong organ and piano accompaniment skills, experience working with cantors and choirs, outstanding communication skills, a passion for excellence, and a desire to collaborate with the Director of Music in all areas of the music ministry program. Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience are offered for this full-time position. For a complete job description, please visit https://kcnativity.org/employment-music-ministry.

To apply, please send a cover letter and resume to jobapplication@kcnativity.org. Links to sample recordings of your work in music ministry are optional but encouraged if available.
