Job Description
Position Summary: The College is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing to lead and develop its marketing efforts. This role is pivotal in elevating the College's national profile, increasing student enrollment, and driving philanthropic support through targeted digital and print campaigns.The Director will serve as the creative and strategic lead for the College's brand identity across digital platforms, print materials, media relations, and advertising. Working collaboratively with department chairs to design and deliver compelling content that drives engagement and growth, specifically for Admissions, Advancement, the Office of the President and COR Expeditions. The Director must be based in Lander, WY
Essential Functions/Primary Job Responsibilities
Strategic Content & Campaign Development
• Lead the creation and distribution of digital and print marketing content to increase enrollment, boost national recognition, and enhance donor engagement.
• Align messaging across departments to support recruitment, donor outreach, and COR Expeditions' mission.
• Design and execute targeted campaigns across email, social media, and paid media platforms.
Publications
• Working with marketing coordinators and copy editors, have oversite of the College's quarterly magazine and Integritas, the COR Expeditions magazine, and other regular publications for marketing efforts.
• Help drive the uniformity in branding and messaging of the COR, Admissions and Advancement promotional materials, including viewbooks, catalogs, fact sheets, one-pagers, PEAK brochures, leave-behinds, planned giving brochures, etc.
Digital Advertising & Media Strategy
• Develop and manage a comprehensive advertising plan across platforms (digital, print, broadcast, podcast and outdoor).
• Produce original ad content and manage placement to target prospective students and potential donors.
• Track and analyze campaign performance to optimize strategy and ensure goal alignment with enrollment and advancement targets.
Brand Consistency
• Maintain Logo and Brand Identity guidelines for WCC and COR Expeditions
• Refine and maintain Usage Guide for online and print mediums
Web and Social Media Management
• Manage website content and updates with a focus on storytelling, student life, academics, and mission-centered messaging.
• Generate engaging social media content that inspires action and reflects the College's distinctive identity.
• Oversee College presence on Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
Media Relations & Publicity
• Cultivate relationships with regional and national media to generate earned coverage.
• Foster relationships with Catholic social media influencers and podcasters.
• Manage press releases, media inquiries, and PR opportunities to amplify the College's presence and thought leadership.
• Collaborate on donor and supporter appeals from the Office of the President and Advancement.
Internal Communication & Event Promotion
• Coordinate and curate internal communications including: the Presidential Column, WCC Roundup, COR Expeditions newsletters, and other institutional messaging.
• Support event promotion and visibility for Admissions, Advancement, and community events, including appeals and announcements.
Requisite Skills and Abilities
• Understanding of and passion for the academic mission of the College
• 3-5 years of marketing experience
• Familiarity with design software (Adobe Creative Suite or other comparable products), website software (Wordpress or comparable products), and email marketing programs (MailChimp or comparable products)
• Adept at various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and more (as they arise)
• The ability to lay out a plan and implement that plan, to organize and keep to a publications calendar, maintain a schedule, and meet deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a particular focus on the creation of content for the various publications being managed
• Attention to detail; self-directed and motivated; a sense of humor and a positive attitude
