Director of Research and Planning - Diocese of Rockford

The Diocese of Rockford seeks a Director of Research and Planning to provide data-driven insight, strategic guidance, and organizational leadership in support of its pastoral and administrative mission. This role partners closely with diocesan leadership to assess current needs, anticipate future challenges, and strengthen consultative structures across parishes, schools, and diocesan offices.

Key Responsibilities

Lead diocesan research, data analysis, and reporting, including parish profiles, Mass attendance, and demographic trends.

Maintain and manage the Parish-Priest Database.

Support parish and diocesan strategic planning initiatives.

Serve as Executive Secretary to the Diocesan Pastoral Council.

Provide governance and leadership training to parishes and diocesan entities.

Assist in organizing and maintaining diocesan archives.

Lead and coordinate major diocesan initiatives such as parish mergers, school consolidations, synods, and capital campaigns.

Serve as a consultant and facilitator to diocesan offices.

Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, privacy standards, and civil law.

Qualifications

Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong commitment to the Church's mission.

Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in ministry, diocesan, nonprofit, or educational settings.

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
