Job Description

The Catholic Diocese of Spokane, WA seeks a full-time Chancellor to support the Bishop and Judicial Vicar by ensuring the effective, orderly, and timely day-to-day functioning of the Diocesan Tribunal while also fulfilling the canonical responsibilities of the diocesan Chancellor. In this integrated role, the Chancellor serves as a consistent point of contact for clergy, parish staff, and the faithful. The position emphasizes organization, coordination and pastoral sensitivity, ensuring that chancery and tribunal work is conducted efficiently, accurately, and in accordance canon law. Essential Qualifications: Licentiate in Canon Law; Demonstrated experience in diocesan tribunal work and/or chancery administration with strong familiarity with marriage cases and canonical procedures; practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with a pastoral understanding of the Church's judicial and administrative ministry; strong organization and administrative skills with ability to manage complex workflows and deadlines.
