Job Description

Position Overview: Holy Spirit Catholic Church is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated financial analyst to manage our day-to-day financial operations and financial reporting activities. This position offers and excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in nonprofit financial management within a faith-based community.

Location: Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3871 Betsy Kerrison Parkway, Johns Island, SC 29455

Hours: Full-Time

Reports to: Pastor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Recordkeeping: Record financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and diocesan governance policies.

Bank Reconciliation: Prepare weekly bank deposits and reconcile bank statements monthly.

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in a timely manner. Review results with Parish Finance Council monthly.

Budget Assistance: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and strategic planning activities.

Payroll Coordination: Coordinate payroll activities with the Diocese, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Adhoc Reporting and Automation: Perform variance analysis, develop and report on parish specific KPIs, automate repetitive tasks and investigate questions raised by Pastor, Parish Finance Council and/or Diocese.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; and/or a minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, various accounting software packages, and other web-based reporting tools.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail plus outstanding organizational and record keeping skills.

Communication: Ability to work collaboratively with the Parish leadership team, Ministry leaders, and members oft he Parish Finance Council. Attend weekly team meeting with Pastor and staff.

Ethical Standards: Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in all financial matters.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Work Environment: This is an in-office position located at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Johns Island, SC.

Schedule Flexibility: While the standard schedule is Monday through Friday with options for one day as work from home, flexibility may be required during peak financial reporting periods and some evening meetings of the Parish Finance Council.
