Position Title: Data and Reporting Analyst

Department: Technology and Data Strategy

Position Location: Remote

Reports to: Data and Analytics Director

Position Summary:

The Data and Reporting Analyst transforms organizational data into actionable insights, designs and maintains Power BI reports and dashboards, and partners with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into reporting solutions.

Educational or Certification Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Business)

Microsoft Power BI or Fabric certifications are a plus

Experience Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence

Demonstrated experience building and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards

Experience writing SQL queries to extract and transform data; Python familiarity a plus

Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Power Query, or Semantic Modeling is desired

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to define business requirements

Nonprofit or fundraising database experience preferred

Marketing analytics experience a plus

Proficiency in Power BI including data modeling, DAX, and dashboard design; Power Query and Microsoft Fabric Semantic Modeling experience desirable

Skilled in SQL for querying and transforming data from multiple source systems; working knowledge of Python a plus

Ability to engage stakeholders, translate business needs into analytical requirements, and communicate findings clearly to non-technical audiences

Detail-oriented and organized; demonstrated commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality

Collaborative, service-oriented mindset aligned with CCO's mission

Understanding of fundraising principles and donor behavior preferred

Duties:

Design, build, and maintain automated Power BI reports and dashboards using Power Query and Semantic Modeling within Microsoft Fabric

Perform descriptive and predictive analysis; translate findings into clear insights and executive summaries for diverse audiences

Query and analyze cross-functional datasets; monitor trends and surface anomalies in donor and constituent data

Write SQL queries to extract and transform data from source systems

Maintain version control of analytical assets and scripts using Git

Conduct data quality control, troubleshoot integrity issues, and ensure secure handling of donor data per organizational policies

Provide analytical support for campaigns and program evaluations; produce summaries to inform leadership decision-making

Maintain documentation of data sources, definitions, and processes

Stay current on nonprofit analytics best practices and the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem

Other duties as assigned

This role requires the ability to perform standard office functions, including prolonged sitting, standing, and computer use. Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving materials weighing up to 20 pounds may be required.

This position may require occasional domestic and/or international travel to attend meetings, trainings, conferences, or organizational events. Travel may be conducted by airplane, automobile, bus, or other reasonable means. Travel frequency is expected to be limited and scheduled in advance when possible.
