Job Description

The History Department at Ave Maria University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of History position to start in the 2027-2028 academic year.
Preference will be given to:
• Candidates with expertise in a subfield of American history.
• Candidates who have earned a doctoral degree in History or a closely related field.
• Candidates with some teaching experience and a promising research agenda.
• Candidates equipped to contribute to the University's Catholic identity and mission.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for full consideration.

- Cover Letter
- Curriculum Vitae, including a list of publications
- Graduate and Undergraduate University Transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable initially, official transcripts to be furnished upon request)
- Teaching Philosophy as it Relates to the Apostolic Constitution Ex Corde Ecclesiae
- Research Statement: Research in progress and further interests
- Three Letters of Recommendation
-Optional supporting materials: Sample syllabi from courses taught, course evaluations
