Job Description

General Summary of the Position

The Director, Campaigns, Capital and Annual is a key member of the development team, responsible for driving the planning, coordination, and execution of the Diocese of Dallas's comprehensive capital campaign and annual appeals. This role oversees the day-to-day management of campaign and appeal goals, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes. The ideal candidate is a strategic project manager and fundraiser who excels in cross-functional collaboration, donor relations, and campaign infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position

- Campaign Management & Strategy: Manage a comprehensive campaign plan and calendar, including timelines, benchmarks, and reporting mechanisms to track progress toward financial goals and deliverable project outcomes.

- Gift Pipeline Development: Partner with leadership, development officers, and campaign counsel to build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective donors capable of making principle-level and leadership-level campaign gifts with support from Prospect Research Analyst.

- Donor Engagement & Solicitation: Support the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of top donor prospects by developing briefing materials, proposals, and talking points; including managing a select portfolio of campaign donors.

- Communications & Materials: Oversee the development of compelling campaign and appeal communications and collateral, including the case for support, donor recognition plans, and campaign updates with support from Development Communications Manager.

- Volunteer Management: Provide staff support to campaign and appeal committees, including meeting preparation, volunteer coordination, and follow-up on action items. Serve as a liaison between internal teams and campaign leadership.

- Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of campaign and appeal progress using Raiser's Edge donor database. Prepare regular progress reports and analyses for senior leadership and committee member with support from the development operations team.

- Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of campaign and appeal-related events, including donor briefings, cultivation receptions, and leadership announcements with support from the Associate Director, Events and Stewardship.

- Other duties as assigned

Additional Ministerial Responsibilities:

- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, parishes, schools, and Catholic entities to align messaging, track gift commitments, and ensure the campaign and appeal reflects organizational priorities and capacity.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Strong understanding of capital or comprehensive campaign strategy and execution.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing donor materials and making donor presentations.

- Highly organized and detail-oriented with demonstrated project management skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

- Proficiency in donor CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Raiser's Edge preferred.

- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical fundraising practices.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree required
- Advanced degree or CFRE a plus
- Bilingual, English and Spanish, strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive development experience, including at least 2-3 years in campaign planning and/or major gift fundraising.

- Practicing Catholic in good standing.
- An understanding of Christian stewardship and supports and upholds the mission of the Gospel and the Catholic Church by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- A commitment to the cultivation and stewardship of donors and prospective donors.
- Candidate must enjoy engaging with people both professionally and socially.
- Ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and major gifts donors in order to develop relationships between them and the Diocese.
